This is a pretty little antique Scottish pottery china plate. It looks great on display in a country kitchen and it is all hand-painted with a thick band of delicate flowers in pastel shades.
It dates to around the 1920s or early 1930s. These plates are usually painted on pottery or fine china "blanks" and are signed on the base: Mak Merry
The china blanks were probably made and supplied by Maling and Sons, Newcastle-on-Tyne.
This is certainly a very cheerful little plate and is very spring-like in design. In good condition with no chips, cracks or crazing to the glaze.
Dimensions: My pretty hand-decorated plate is 7 3/4 inches in diameter.
