This is a large tankard mug which was made by Buchan Pottery, who were based at Portobello, near Edinburgh (now closed). It dates on stylistic grounds to the late 1950s.
It is a very unusual pattern and one that you do not see so often on Buchan pieces.
The pattern is atomic in inspiration and is reminiscent of designs that you would find on Poole pottery freeform pieces made about the same time.
This rare pattern is probably of interest to collectors of Buchan pieces - and its rarity is reflected in my asking price for this wonderful tankard.
The mug is 3 1/2 inches in height.
It would cost £4.95 to send to you in the UK with Royal Mail recorded delivery. This would be applied to your order at checkout.
