This is a nice little vintage pair of Scottish porcelain birds of prey that were made by Alastair Dunn at Arran.
In the early 1970s, Alastair Dunn began producing these fine miniature porcelain models at his pottery studio on the Isle of Arran. These are original figurines of bird models that have the Arran stamp or labels on the base, as photographed.
Alastair Dunn continued to make these models throughout the 70s - until his death in 1986. They were popular with tourists to Arran - and are now much sought after by collectors.
The birds featured are two birds native to the Island - a Peregrine Falcon and a Hen Harrier. They are harder to find birds and slightly larger models in the series - so this is reflected in my price.
The models are hollow porcelain. The are hand-painted and have a matt finish. They have the Arran pottery mark on the base of each.
The Peregrine Falcon (the daker bird) is 8 cm in height and with a length of 10.5 cm. The Hen Harrier (the lighter grey bird) is 8.5 cm in height and with a length of 10.5 cm.
Both are in excellent condition with no damages. They are listed at £20 for each bird. They are now becoming highly collectable.
They will be sent to you with Royal Mail Recorded Delivery (Small Parcel) and this will be applied to your order at the checkout.
