This is a useful pair of 1950s / 1960s stoneware pottery mugs. These are two blue ones - I have another four in an oatmeal colour also listed on the website.
They were made by Buchan Pottery, who were based at Portobello, near Edinburgh (now closed).
They date on stylistic grounds to the late 1950s or early 1960s. There is no pattern on any of the mugs - but they have an attractive French blue colour - so popular in contemporary interiors.
Each mug or tankard is of a large size - great for large mugs of tea - or perhaps in the winter for cups of warming soup or broth. The height is 5 inches in height. The base is 3 1/2 inches in diameter and the rim is 3 inches in diameter.
Each mug is clearly marked on the base, as photographed. They have no damages. I am listing these at a fair price of £14 each mug - they are getting harder to find - and of course are no longer being made with the pottery being long gone.
The set would be be posted to you with Royal Mail Recorded Post (Small Parcel). This would be applied to your order at checkout.
