This is a very rare Antique Staffordshire zebra and foal spill vase.
Mother and foal both stand beside a stream in front of a tree with a blush pink interior, c 1860.
A similar model is illustrated as figure a3124, page 277 in Schiffer''s ''Victorian Staffordshire Figures 1835-1875'' Book 3, by A.& N. Harding.
My figurine is in good condition - but sadly with two stress fractures to the free legs of the adult zebra (taken into account with my selling price) - these are both stable and I have taken photographs of these which you can see in my photographs.
There are no other damages or restorations.
Overall height 12 inches.
A similar pair sold at Christie’s, 14 June 2001, London, South Kensington (Lot 121) for £2,350
