This is a lovely antique / vintage brass table lamp dating to around the 1920s.
It is a lovely simple design and comes complete with the trumpet or bell-shaped clear glass shade, as photographed.
The lamp has recently been re-wired and is all ready for you to just plug in and use. We have chosen a gold coloured cloth twist old-fashioned cable. This is earthed and PAT tested.
The base is circular with decorative steps. From the base issues, the stem. This has a spiral twist running all around it from the bottom to top - in between each raised twist section is an engraved floral pattern. There is a grommet to keep your cable in place and nice and secure. There is a brass bulb holder at the top with an on / off finger switch.
The shade is engraved with a geometric pattern with hobnail and fan details looks a little like the decoration used on Edinburgh Crystal drinking glasses. This lamp would certainly look great lighting up your cabinet of crystal glasses - or perhaps as a feature light on a wee table in a corner of a room.
It is a rather tall table or desk lamp - the brass base and column to the top of the bulb holder measures 15 3/4 inches (40 cm). From the base to the top of the shade is 20 1/2 inches (52 cm).
The shade is 5 1/.2 inches in height with a diameter of the top of 5 1/4 inches.
The diameter of the base is 5 1/2 inches (14 cm).
The brass section is nice and solid with a nice heavy base to that it does not topple over. Unpacked it weighs 2.5 kg.
As you can see from my photographs - my lamp is in excellent condition - the brass is all clean and shiny and the shade is also clean and without damage. We have photographed the base (below) for you to look at - we will applied a nice piece of new thick green felt to the base - so that the metal does not scratch your furniture.
It will be sent to you with Parcelforce48 postage - this will cost £10 and applied to your order at the checkout.
