I love this vintage late 1950s / 1960s vase. It is so stylish and I love all the beautiful pastel colours and abstract designs.
It is made by a British ceramics company called Royal Norfolk.
The vase is shaped a little like a peanut - with vertical bands of white, yellow, rosy pink and sky blue - all very mid-century tones. Each band is decorated with typical 1950s abstract shapes - all hand painted onto the surface. Perhaps Royal Norfolk were looking to Poole Freeform pieces for inspiration - as it has a little bit of an Alfred Rhead freeform vibe going on!
The interior of the vase is a glossy black glaze.
It is in excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks. Very tactile and will look fabulous in a period MCM interior. You won't find these coming up for sale that often. Now about 60 years old and still looking totally wonderful.
A nice large size for display. It is 10 inches in height - and it is 4 3/4 inches in diameter at the widest point. The base measures 3 1/4 inches in diameter and the aperture at the top is about 3 1/12 inches at the widest.
The weight unpacked is 700 grams.
It will cost £4.95 to post to you in the UK. This will be for recorded delivery with the Royal Mail. This will be applied to your order at the checkout.
