I have grouped this three pieces of hand-blown Art Glass together as I think that they look good as a wee group on display.
The large blue one is by the Swedish glass artist Helena Gibson (b. 1947), as signed on the base. She is a contemporary glass designer and is based in the Gothenburg Glass Studio. She creates exquisite minimalistic hand-blown glass pieces, like the attractive blue bowl, and is known for her exceptional craftsmanship. This zingy blue colour is much favoured by Gibson.
My blue bowl is made of a cobalt blue speckled glass. It has a little flash of yellow in the foot - and it is finished with an opaque scarlet rim. The sides of the blue flare out and it stands firm on a little round applied foot. It is signed on the base: H. Gibson. It is also in perfect condition with no damages. It is a great piece for display or perhaps as a little serving bowl for party nibbles.
My other two little bowls are also be a Scandinavian glass artist. The creator is Abel Sawe (b. 1958). Each has an etched description on the base: Sawe Glass.
Abel Sawe (b. 1958) was originally from Kenya. He started working at the Glasshytta in Norway in 1987 and was a partner since 1991. From April 2008, he became sold owner of the Glass Factory. ABEL Sawe (1958) started at Glasblower in 1987, has been a partner in Glasshytta since 1991, and from April 2008 the sole owner of the Glass Factory.
These little Sawe Glass pieces are simple in form - but are just such lovely pieces of Norwegian Art Glass - the main body is clear with a little coloured tint to the glass (picked up from the rim colour) and finished with the addition of a clear blue or aqua glass rim on each.
No damages on any of the pieces. These will look great in a contemporary Scandinavian inspired interior with more minimal lines.
I have taken lots of photographs of all the pieces on sale here. All three come in at total bargain price of £70.
