These are really cute - and a great wee set if you collect antique Children's Ceramics or Nursery Ware
On offer here are a set of six teeny weeny dinner plates and another set of six plates just slightly larger in size.
These date to the late 19th century or early 20th century.
Great little display items and in lovely condition with no chips or cracks.
Each item has a Bishop & Stonier mark to the base: and the word ASHLEY.
The smaller sized plates have a diameter of 9 cm and the slightly larger ones are 11 cm in diameter.
In 1891 Duncan Bishop and John Stonier created this new company trademark using the first letters of their surnames. The company was taken over by George Jones & Sons in the 1930s - so these wee pieces of nursery ware must date well before that time.
These little miniature pieces are now quite rare and you have to look hard to find these little table size pieces scaled down for display or children.
