This is a another dramatic Ukrianian Porcelain Figurine that I currently have on offer in my online store.
It dates to the mid-20th century (during the Soviet era) and was made at the Polonne ZHK Factory in the Ukraine. It dates to the early 1960s.
The figuine consists of two Cossacks dancing and playing musical instruments. The man standing up has a large concertina which is expanded in from of him. The man kneeling - wearing baggy bright orange trousers - is playing a hand held drum called a tamburin. The decoraton has all been hand-painted.
On the base is the mark for the Polonne ZHK Factory. The factory was located in the Khmelnitsky region of the Ukraine. The were a prominent Soviet-era manufacturer (1950s–1990s) known for producing, hand-painted porcelain figurines, animal sculptures, and decorative vases. The post-war Soviet figurines are much sought after. This one is in perfect condition with no damages of any kind.
This model dates to the 1960s when there was a revival in production after WWII and more contemporary styles were introduced.
My figurine is in perfect condition with no damages. Dimensions:7 1/4 inches in height. 8 inches wide and 3 3.4 inches in depth.
