This is a very pretty glass lamp - it looks great with its festive red and white colours. It dates to the early 20th Century.
The main body section is made of hand-blown Ruby Red glass - it is a faceted fluted shape. The base has deeply engraved geometric lines in the glass for decoration. The upstand section is fluted and ends at a slightly bulbous top.
There is a nice new chrome bulb holder - with an on-off finger switch on the bulb holder to allow you to easily switch it on.
The shade is very pretty - with an art nouveau style and looks good with the sweeping Noveau shape of the red glass section. It is a white opaque milk glass with an undulating rim.
Dimensions: Overall height (including shade) is 14 1/2 inches. The red glass base is 5 inches in diameter. From base to top of the bulb holder is 11 1/2 inches. The shade diameter is 6 1/4 inches. The height of the shade is 3 3/4 inches.
The lamp looks (to me) like an exotic flower. It is very unusual and you probably would find another like it. We have priced it at a fair price given its rarity and beautiful condition.
The lamp is in pristine vintage condition, with its new silver-tone bulb holder. It has also been rewired - with a good quality three-core cloth-covered flex. It is earthed and ready to just plug in and use. There is a good 2 1/2 meters of cable to allow you to run it if required a distance to your power socket.
We have added a green felt baize cloth to the base of the lamp - so that it does not scratch your furniture. This can easily be removed if you don't like it.
We will have to post this item to the UK only - it will be sent with Parcelforce24 - so that we can pack it carefully, double box, and in very sturdy boxes to keep it safe in transit. This is an insured and tracked service.
