These vintage teak extending wall lights are much sought-after. They are great lights if you want directed light over a desk, sewing table or worktop. It can be pulled out over the table top - and when no longer required can be pushed back up against the wall.
This one is in excellent vintage condition with no damages and is in working condition, as photographed. My price is a fair one given its condition, how well it is made, as well as its longer extension length.
It dates to the mid-20th century and is probably Danish in origin. The lamp has an up-stand that easily screws into your wall. It comes complete with a working finger on-off button - and it also has about 4 metres of extended cable - which you can pin to your wall and run to your nearest socket point without having to embed the cable into the plaster of your wall.
It is quite a quirky design and very much of its time. The light can be extended out from the wall with the scissor action teak batons (all firmly joined together) and the concertina action also allows you to press the teak batons back to keep the light closer to the wall. When placed against the wall - the structure of the lamp is certainly interesting technically - and indeed aesthetically!
It is in good condition - with original wiring. This is all intact and with no chips or cracks - but it should be checked over by an electrician to ascertain that the wiring is fine. There are no breaks to any of the wooden sections - and the colour of the wood is with a nice rich patina of age. The press switch fixture is working - and indeed the company who originally made these back in the 60s is still in operation and making good quality light switches.
It comes with a mid-century glass shade made of white satin opaque glass with glittery yellow candy stripes all around. The shade height is 5 1/2 inches with a diameter of the widest point of 5 1/4 inches.
DIMENSIONS: The wall bracket section measures 46 cm in height. fully extended it reaches out 100 cm from the wall and with minimal extension it is 30 cm from the wall. So this is a larger example with a long extension when fully pulled out. I have taken images of Robert holding it so you can see how it looks working. I have also included lots of images for your inspection.
It will be sent to you in the UK only with Parcelforce24. This will cost just over £10 and applied to your order at the checkout.
