This another really fine Scottish glass paperweight. As you can see it is beautifully made and was created by Strathearn Glass.
This early Strathearn paperweight dates to the 1960s and has a polished red base. It has an original Strathearn label on the base (rubbed) - otherwise, I might have thought that it was a Vasart one.
The ground colour is a nice red shade. The base has been polished flat. The canes are a bit more chunky in form - later Strathearn paperweights often have more delicate millefiori canes.
There is a blue quatrefoil cane in the centre. This is surrounded by a posy rosette of blue and green flower-like canes. From the rosette issue 10 white latticino canes. In between these ribbons are triangular arrangements of canes - the pale pink shield-shaped one is a less common cane.
It is an attractive vintage Scottish glass paperweight.
It measures 2 inches in height with a diameter of 3 inches. The weight is 425 grams.
The paperweight is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or polishing. Any white marks on the images are not on the weight - but are just reflections from the glass.
