The Edinburgh Civil Service Motoring Club Ltd. was a company registered in Scotland. It was dissolved in December 2012.
This is a vintage badge relating to the club - looking at the font on the badge and the design - it looks like it must date to the early 1960s. It is very rare and I have not been able to source another one. So it is probably a more specialist item for a collector of Scottish motoring history memorabilia or vintage car badges.
The group was established in 1923 (when it was the Civil Service Motoring Club) and was open to past and present members of the UK Civil Service and public sector.
This car badge with its association with Edinburgh is very rare and it is being offered as a very fair price here. Tbe badge is made of white metal with a central image of the gateway to Edinburgh Castle set against a Saltire with a dark blue enamel background.
It is in excellent condition with no damages - it has never been placed on a car - and indeed it comes with its original bars and fittings for attaching to you car bumper or grill.
