This is a fabulous vintage lamp dating to the late 1950s or 1960s.
It has come from my own collection - and I have had it packed up in my loft space for the last 20 years. I am sorting some of this out during lockdown - and have decided to put this up for sale.
It is certainly a very elegant shape - and made of a solid piece of heavy teak - so very substantial. The grain is just beautiful, as is the rich colour.
I love not only the shape of this vintage lamp - but also the three deep grooved rings on the base, as photographed.
There are no maker's names on this lamp that I can see - but stylistically I always believed it to be Danish and from the 1960s. It is certainly not a new piece - as I can vouch for owning it the past 30 years (and it was old then!). There is an old original green baize on the base - which I have not removed - so may have details of manufacture under there?
It is in good vintage condition - no cracks, nasty chips etc - and the wood is all shiny and no dulling to the patina. There are two very very tiny dings to the wood - commensurate with its age - you cannot see these unless looking in extreme close up - but mentioning here for accuracy.
With a simple cream Hessian tall drum shade - this will look simply stunning in a Scandi-modern interior - would look best on a Scandinavian or G-Plan cabinet or buffet bureau.
Better give you the dimensions. The height is from base to top of bulb holder 18 inches - it has a diameter of 4 inches. It is 2.1 kg unpacked - so a good bit of weight to it - no danger of such a tall wooden lamp toppling over.
Re-wired and working.
It would have to be sent to UK addresses only - this would be sent with Parcelforce48 - tracked and signed for. This will be charged at checkout and will be £10 (very carefully packed of course!).
