This is a very unusual vintage 1960s vase.
It is marked to the base: BULFORD / MADE IN ENGLAND.
I cannot find much information about this pottery - so pieces made here are now rather rare.
I have owned this vase (and another which would form a matching pair) for many years and I bought them as they made me think of similar designs by John Clappison for Hornsea.
The vase is triangular in shape - with a stylized snowflake pattern on each of the three sides - below there is a cut-out shape which is glazed with a shiny black glaze.
The vase is very large measuring some 11 inches in height and with a diameter of 4 inches.
There is a slight craquelure to the glaze - which is commensurate with age - and only noticeable on close-up inspection - but no chips or cracks.
This has a very space-age feel to the design, and it is certainly very rare - and I doubt that you will now find another like it so easily.
I do have two which form a matching pair - this listing is only for the one vase - but I have allowed you the option to select the second one by using the drop-down list.
Due to it being a larger size, and quite a heavy piece of pottery - it makes postage in the UK just a tad more expensive.
