This is a sweet little 19th century piece of Doulton Lambeth Stoneware - it takes the form of a little Oriental inspired bud vase.
It is marked on the base, as photographed.
The glaze is ochre / cafe-au-lait colour and it has been embellished on the front with two dragons. These have been hand-painted in enamels on the bulbous section of the vase. The one below has his head twisted inwards to face his body. The one placed above is more coiled and has this tail snaking around the back of the vase.
The dragons are delineated in black and they are highlighted with white and blue touches. There is a little gold painted band forming the foot of the bud vase and another around the rim.
The vase is in excellent condition with no chips or damages. There is a little run of the ink used in the drawing of the upper dragon - this is not damage and has happened in the making. I have photographed this for you. These little ochre vases with hand decoration are rather rare and this is reflected in my asking price.
Dimensions: The height of the vase is just under 6 inches (15 cm). The diameter at the widest point is 2 1/2 inches (6.5 cm). The foot is 1 1/2 inches (4 cm).
The vase will be carefully packed and sent to you with Royal Mail Tracked 24. This will be applied to your order at the checkout.
