These are a lovely pair of Victoria cast iron doorstops or fireplace ornaments.
They were probably made at Greenlees, Glasgow (please also see my miniature fireplaces made by them in my store).
I have seen similar ones listed which call these doorstops - but given that I have here a rare matching pair - I think that these are more probably rustic ornaments or chimney place / fireside decorations which you might put in your hearth beside an open fire.
These are NOT later reproductions - but are genuine original Victorian items - they have the Victorian design lozenge on the back, as photographed.
The pair is in excellent condition for their age - given they are made of cast iron - the original paintwork can with the passage of time become quite vulnerable to losses. Other examples are often quite rusted and have no colouring applied to them. My pair have their original paintwork as photographed - there is some little area of rusting here and there - but this is commensurate with use and age.
Dimensions; 10 inches in height and 8 1/2 inches wide.
The combined weight is 2.6 kg - so a good bit of weight to them.
Rarer decorative items for a Victorian period interior, listed at a fair price.
Postage quoted here is for Royal Mail Parcelforce48. I would only be able to post these horses outside of the UK if I could send to you as two parcels - this would probably make postage quite expensive.
