This is a pretty little vintage evening bag or purse, dating to the 1940s or very early 1950s.
It is has a little label inside which reads: HAND MADE / FOREIGN.
The bag is in pristine condition with no losses to the beadwork, the interior white silk lining is also nice and clean with no dirty marks.
The bag is an unusual shape and has a meandering beadwork pattern on the background. Then on the foreground is an abstracted pattern - the shapes are filled with close-packed beads and little flowerheads made of tiny pearls.
On the back of the bag the same wiggly beadwork pattern. There is a white metal clasp at the top to open the little evening bag - and the handle is a simple band covered with beads.
This bag would be certainly very pretty for a wedding - as it is a nice ivory colour - and is quite petite so it would only hold the bare necessities that you might need on your big day - a little powder compact and lipstick etc.
The main body of the bag measures: 5 1/2 inches in height and with a width of 6 inches at the widest.
