I love this old breakfast set - it would be great for camping out in your VW Campervan or caravan.
It was made in Germany in the 1960s by Emsa Plastik.
Emsa was founded on 1 April 1949 by Franz Wulf as "Franz Wulf & Co Plasticwarenfabrik" in Greven. Its first prodcut was a little drip-catcher made of plastic and formed like a buttefly. The company also produced pastry-cutting wheels, icing bags and comparable kitchen accessories.
In 1956 the company moved from Greven to larger premises in Emsdetten.
I love this little breakfast set made of red and white hard plastic. It has never been used and always kept in the box and is in pristine condition. Check out that funky packaging! it is so mid-century cool. All the products are illustrated on the lid.
Inside you have six little egg cups - the exterior white shiny plastic and with a second interior liner of bright scarlet red. There is a moulded white plastic egg timed (with a timing scale). The timer sectoin is made of glass. There are the original siz white plastic sppons and a little pot for keeping salt in for sprinkling on your boiled eggs.
Great set - perhaps more of an item for folk who collect vintage packaging - but great for camping - it can get shoogled about in transit and not break and all you need are some eggs, a cooking pot & a wee stove, and you are sorted for your breakfast.
The box measures: 8 inches x 6 3/4 inches x 2 inches.
As you can see from my photos all nice and fresh. Very rare vintage kitchenalia - would look great on display on a 1950s free-standing cupboard.
It will cost £4.95 to send Recorded Post in the UK with Royal Mail. This will be applied at checkout.
