This is a very attractive vintage paperweight. It is a bit of a showstopper with an array of vibrant rainbow millefiori murrine canes inset into a ground of mixed predominately blue, red and white swirling ones.
These weights were made in Murano in the 1950s / 1960s by AVeM (Arte Vetraria Muranese). It is a tutti friutti Bizantino weight.
This weight had glowing colours the top section has a closepack spread of canes placed in a circular rosette patterns (a little randomly). There is a central oroange and white cane with a black dot inside it. This is surrounded by rings of bright cane in shades of blue, orange, lime green and yellow & oranage. Below is a swirl of darker melded canes, as photographed.
It has no signature cane or paper label but these AVeM weights are very identifiable. The base is polished.
In lovely vintage condition with no chips or cracks. Any white marks on the photos are not on the weight - but are merely reflections on the glass on the crown of the weight.
It measures just over 2 3/4 inches in height - and with a diameter of 3 inches. It is dramatic weight of a large size.
My asking price takes into consideration the attractiveness of the weight and just how good it looks on display!
