This is a vintage powder compact for pressed powders.
It also has a lift-off ring with a wee catch inside which can be raised to allow the pressed powder to go in and closes to keep it in place.
As you can see from my photographs - it is generally nice and clean and hardly used. There is a wee stain on the bottom caused be the silver container from a pressed cake - this is not dirty - but just a wee stain, as photograph
There is a mirror in the lid which is generally clean with no disfiguring marks to the glass.
The compact is a more unusual shape with a "pie-crust" edge all around. The exterior lid is decorated with a pretty and very feminine image of a large pink rose - contained within a sugar-pink border. The background colour is ice-white enamel - it is very shiny - so any white marks on it in my photographs are not on the compact - but are simply light reflections.
The base is a very shiny gold tone and the finish is as lovely as when it was first made. It has pretty little stars all over it, as photographed. The word Stratton is in a little lozenge in the center. There is a tiny dent just above the word - but it is very minor and does not distract from the design.
It dates to the 1960s.
The diameter is 8.5 cm (just over 3 1/4 inches).
My asking price reflects its age and fine vintage condition - it is a fine example and is now nearly 60 years old.
UK Postage will be about £2.45 with the Royal Mail - and this will be applied to your order at the checkout.
