This is a collectable 1960s Scottish glass paperweight - made by Strathearn Glass.
It is not marked with the customary "S" cane but instead has a date cane for the year 1969. The "69" cane is on the centre of the flowerhead.
I have other floral egg-shaped Strathearn paperweights listed on my website.
This one is different in that it is spherical and of a magnum size.
The paperweight features a Royal Blue lampwork flower with five long petals, each edge with a paler blue colour. Below are three emerald green leaves - also edged with a slightly paler shade. The flower floats just under the top of the dome and below is lots of clear glass containing five curved white muslin latticino ribbons. The base is clear.
The weight is large one, as previously mentioned. It measures 3 inches in height and has a diameter of 3 1/2 inches. It weights 840 grames unpacked.
It was difficult to photograph the little flower contained within the weight, due to lots of reflections, so hope that my photographs do it justice.
In good vintage condition with no chips or damages.
