This is a stylish vintage Carlton Ware Coffee Set. It is a rather minimalistic design - with all the pieces being of a streamlined shape.
The set consists of a tall coffee pot, a little milk jug, an open sugar bowl, and four shallow cups and saucers.
Each piece is decorated with an abstracted floral pattern - and there is an impressed decorative pattern on the edge of the saucers and lid of the coffee pot - this reminds me of patterns that appear on vintage Danish Wiinblad pieces for Rosenthal.
The thing that I love the best about this set is the dropped handle on the coffee pot - and the stylish shape and detailing of each piece - they are all marked with the Carlton Ware mark on the base, as photographed.
I have taken a lot of images for your inspection - so that you can see all the details of the set. I have it priced up as follows: Coffee Pot (£30); Milk Jug and Sugar Bowl (£25). Each cup and saucer would be £5 each (£20) - so a good fair price of £75 for this very collectible and unusual set by a quality maker.
Dimensions: The coffee pot is 8 inches in height - and 6 1/2 inches wide at the widest point. From Handle to spout it is 8 1/2 inches (825 grams unpacked). The cups are 2 1/4 inches in height and with a diameter of 3 inches. The saucers are 5 inches in diameter. The sugar bowl is 3 inches in diameter and is 2 1/4 inches in height. The milk jug is 3 inches in diameter; from handle to spout it is 4 1/2 inches and the height is 2 1/2 inches.
All are in pretty good condition with no chips or cracks. They look lovely on display and this pattern and shape are quite rare. I certainly have never seen this abstract pattern on this space-age shape before.
I would have to send the set to you in the UK with Parcelforce Recorded post - this will cost £10 to post to you - and will be applied to your order at checkout.
