This is a very unusual desk lamp - and as yet have not found any other ones listed quite like it.
I have TWO MATCHING lamps for offer.
On offer here is ONE. It is a vintage desk or space-age table lamp dating from around the late 1960s - 1970s.
The lamp is a very well-made designer example and is certainly a top-quality one.
It is not flimsy in construction and has a good weight to it - so no toppling over factor which you might find in similar lamps.
The base is made of a wood / teak material and if you look underneath - there is a heavy metal insert to give the weight to the lamp: there is no maker's name just an impressed number which reads: 222.023.001
From the centre of the wooden base rises a chrome pole or upstand. Attached to the upstand is a geometric wooden block - which matches the base - this block can readily move up and down the upstand - and is tightened by a screw at the back.
At the other end of the wooden block issues the chrome attachment for the globe shade - this attaches onto a pivot joint on the shade - and allows the lamp to be moved about and positioned in a rotating motion. So a great lamp to position - with it being able to move up and down and then around.
The shade is made of white metal and has a glossy coating of slightly sparkly matt-gold or copper coloured enamel. The interior of the shade is a shiny silver coloured metal to reflect the light from the bulb.
The bulb is a bayonet fitting - which suggests that the lamp might be British in origin. The design is very reminiscent of other similar table lamps by Staff Leuchten which were made in Germany in 1970s.
DIMENSIONS: The base is 6 ¾ inches in diameter with a height of 1 inch. The lampshade diameter is 6 ½ inches. The maximum height is 20 inches.
Each lamp that I have on offer is 2.5 kg unpacked.
They are both in good vintage condition - some wee rubbing to the very edge of the wooden base - which I will polish before posting. Some minor scuffing to the wooden trim on the foot, commensurate with age and use - and with little white felt pads applied to stop the base scratching your furniture etc.
The shade is scratch free and has no nasty dents. Each lamp is fully adjustable and stays in pose. They are obviously sold as working and are turned on and off by original finger switch.
My price takes into account the quality of the lamp, the rarity of the design and its condition.
SADLY DUE TO WEIGHT - I would be unable to post these pieces outside of the UK. As mentioned, I can send more images for serious interest in purchase.
Each lamp would be sent with Parcelforce48
