I have a total of four of these collectable kitsch prints available in my store. These date to the early 1970s and are taken from paintings by D. Golding. They prints feature cartoon images of little children. They are known as "Big Eyes" or "Moppets".
This print shows an auburn-haired girl with big green "google" eyes. She is wearing an old grey dress with a black patch on it. She wears a blue and white checked shawl around her shoulders. She is poor and has no shoes. The little girl has been out trying to sell sprays of "lucky white heather". She holds a sprig in her hand. The background colour is a dark peppermint green.
They are possibly not to everyone's taste - but they were very popular in the early 1970s - along with Tretchikoff and JH Lynch prints of Oriental and glamourous ladies. These wee cutesy prints would still look sweet in a child's bedroom today.
It comes in its original vintage white plastic frame and is covered with glass. The artwork is on good vintage condition, as photographed. It is 40 cm in height and 17 cm wide.
