This is a very unusual and unique vintage brooch. c
It comes from my own personal collection - and I have owned it since the 1980s.
It is made of terracotta clay - with raised additions on the front which take the shape of little abstract birds. The back has a brass pin on a roundel attached firmly to the back.
There is an incised signature on the bottom edge - this reads BARCLAY.
I never found out who the maker was- but it has obviously been made by a talented ceramic artist.
