Perthshire Glass was a small company in Crieff, Scotland.
It was devoted to the creation of quality glass paperweights. The company was founded in 1968 and stopped production in January 2002 after more than 30 years of production.
This is a fabulous, and highly collectable, glass scent bottle (PP42) made at the Perthshire glassworks in the early 1980s. This one has its original paper label intact.
These bottled were made from 1980 until 1989. They are spherical in form and the bottom contains a mesh made of five concentric millefiori rings - these surround the P cane in the center (as photographed). The bottles that were made in the 1980s contained a tall tapered stopper with twisted coloured threads - again as photographed.
It is quite an ingenious design - as the reservoir inside for holding the perfume is a plain circular chamber - but if you look at it - the millefiori canes are reflected in the base of the perfume section - and look like it is inside the bottle itself.
Dimensions: 5 1/2 inches in height including the stopper. The body section is 3 1/4 inches in height. The diameter is 2 1/2 inches.
I have three of these for sale in my shop - all are in excellent condition with no damages.
Postage for the UK will be charged at £4.95 for Royal Mail Recorded - postal discounts of course would apply.
