This is a quirky little set of salt and pepper pots.
They are made of ceramic and date to the 1980s ? - they might be earlier as they seem to have an old cork stopper and I would have suspected that 80s issues might have had plastic bungs.
They are marked to the base: FF England (not sure if the FF is for Fitz and Floyd who I thought were an American company - but they were known for their novelty cruets at this time).
The cruets are in lovely condition with no chips or cracks.
They certainly are very strange - and take the form of a pair of little chubby twins - they are both quite rotund in physique (like Humpty Dumpty) but are dressed as Elizabethan courtiers with little ruffs around their necks.
Even more strangely they come complete with a little delicate wooden bench - which they sit on. The bench is made of such fine wood, I am surprised that it has survived at all!
The cruets are about 2 1/2 inches in height (not including the bench).
Very strange cruets these ones - and certainly great additions to your collection of novelty shakers.
