Jacob Hull was working in Denmark, mainly in the 1970s producing quirky silver and silver plated jewellery. The white metal sections on my necklace has no 925 silver mark. so this would imply that this is silver-plate. It is a very fair price for this Scandinavian designer necklace.
It is marked: J Hull / Denmark and B+D and it would have been comissioned by Buch & Deichmann. Although not solid silver - but are brass with a thick silver plate finish Hull's 70s Brutalist designs are made by hand and are now highly collectable.
My necklace has a crescent shaped metal secton at the bottom - this is covered with lava bubbled shapes - randomly created when the metal cooled and is it certainly a primitive Brutalist form. From this is comes a black rubberoid section with two large silver plate caps and a large decorative hook enclosure.
I have owned this pre-loved piece since the 1980s and it has been stored in a box at home - it is being sold in nice clean condition. It is probably a "one-off" design as I cannot find another like it. It is certainly a very unusual and eye-catching piece of Scandinavian vintage jewellery.
Dimensions: the circumference of the necklace measures approximately 16 1/2 inches (42 cm).
