This is a fine old Art Deco 1930s glass plafonnier lampshade.
It is an opaque white colour - which is speckled in the glass with veins of a vibrant raspberry shade - that you might find running through raspberry ripple ice cream.
It is called a goldfish bowl shade - and is also known by its cheeky nickname of a "flycatcher" shade. This one is a rather special one due to its more unusual shape - the are textured rather like the ridges you might find on a clam shell or on an old-fashioned jelly mould. I have take lots of images for you can assess this rarer and rather rarer shape. The glass is nice and thick.
I look the three decorative metal original hanging hooks on the lamp.
It is a nice large size measuring 15 1/2 inches in diameter. The height of the shade is 7 inches.
This one is in good vintage condition.
The shade is in good condition with no nasty chips, nibbles, or cracks. There is however, one little loss to a little area of the rim at the top - this is not immediately noticeable - and would not be showing when the light is hanging up. This is the only condition issue with this - I would normally not have listed any shade with a little nibble to an edge - but this one is so attractive - it would be a shame not to present it to you. I have taken the little flaw to it into account when setting the price. The little edge section with the nibbles to the edge is shown in my last three close-up photos in my listing concentrating on the area in question.
