This is a fabulous little vintage Inuit Doll.
It has been handmade - possibly as a souvenir to bring back from a trip to the Arctic Circle or a similar frozen region of the globe.
On stylistic evidence, I am dating this to the late 1950s or early 1960s.
The doll itself is quite simple in form - but love all the details of the clothes.
The doll has a red felt tunic with blue blanket stitch edging. It has a hood and a little cream coloured fur trim - you can see the figure's little face peeping out. The tunic is shorter to the front and longer to the back.
The doll has little black trousers again with a blue blanket stitching around the bottom at knee height.
The figure has little seal skin boots - around the calf section and leather on the feet. There is a beige tie leather belt around the tunic waist and around the top of the boots.
The hands are very simple in shape - and again made of leather.
A wonderful little doll. I love it!
In excellent condition with no issues. Nice and clean. No moth damage to the fabric and no fading.
