This is just a very delightful weight - and a rare one from a small limited edition of only 200.
It was made to commemorate the Queen's Golden Jubilee and is entitled The Golden Jubilee Tapestry, and designed by the great glass maestro, Colin Terris.
Although an edition of 200 was planned - it transpired that only 166 were eventually made.
This is one is number: 112
A high domed weight in the shape of an egg - the exterior of the weight is frosted - and the front has a polished facet which you can look into the center of the weight through.
Inside - we can see a beautifully rendered tight pink rose with four green leaves surrounding the bloom.
On the frosted back - Terris has etched out random images of Windsor Castle and Buckingham Palace - when you look past the flower inside - you can see this images in clear beyond the flower - which adds to the three-dimensional quality of the weight. I have tried to capture this subtle effect in my photographs for you.
My weight is in excellent condition with no damages.
Height is just over 4 inches and three inches at its widest.
Again, this is not such a common weight - and is with such a small edition it is just so much harder to find, and this is reflected in my asking price. Probably an item for the more specialist paperweight collector.
