This is a fine vintage Murano paperweight. It has a single white overlay which has five viewing windows or facets. There is another viewing facet on the top. Around each of the facets is a lovely old gold edging. In between each facet there are little posies of pink and blue flowers - these have been hand-painted and are original to the weight.
Inside the weight - the centre has a large millefiori floating mushroom shape. This is made up of five concentric circles of blue and white canes - with a small blue rosette in the centre. The base of the weight has been polished flat and has a six-pointed star engraved.
On the base, there are also two old Murano labels - original to the weight, as photographed. One is a Formosa De Miranda A L'Insecna Del Moreto one.
This is certainly is a very pretty smaller Murano overlay paperweight. It is in excellent condition with no chips or scratches.
Dimensions: The diameter is 2 1/5 inches (5.8 cm). The height is 1 1/2 inches (3.8 cm). The paperweight unpacked is 225 grams.
