This is a very attractive little set of SIX demitasse coffee spoons which were designed by David Andersen, Norway. Each one is marked on the back D-A 925 S NORWAY - STERLING.
They are made of silver with has been finished with a blush of gold gilt - the gilt finish is in excellent condition and has no losses.
The handles are decorated with harlequin enamels, as photographed.
They are all in excellent condition with no chipping or scratches to the enamel.
The set has 6 original spoons - each is 3 3/4 inches in length.
They come in a nice hard black leather / leatherette covered case - with a pair of brass closure clips at the front. The lid of the box is hinged and has a white satin lid interior and black velvet base with slots for each wee spoon. There is one wee scuff to the top corner of the top on the exterior.
As Norwegian silver has no date letters - I will suggest at date of the 1940s for this finely made set.
My asking price reflects the fact that these were made by a top silversmith - and also their exceptional condition.
