This design is called Rose Boudoir and dates to the 1990s.
It was designed by Ola Gorie and has the initials OMG on the back - and a teeny weeny hallmark - to small to even read with a magnifying glass.
This brooch is called Rose Boudoir and it is very similar to her Machair design - which features tiny flowers growing wild on a grassy plain. This design has a cut-away section at the base - the Machair one is totalled infilled. This design was inspired by Charles Rennie Mackintosh's designs that were featured in an exhibition in Turin.
The pin on the back has a hoop closure. It also has a little loop soldered to the back - so that you can add a fine chain to the brooch (if you so wish). It is certainly beautifully made pieces of Scottish jewellery.
The brooch is 925 Sterling Silver - and handcrafted in Orkney by Ola Marie Gorie. It comes in its original vintage green presentation box.
This brooch design is still in production and is listed on the Ola Gorie website for £295. So my asking price for this is very fair. It is in excellent vintage condition and has never been worn. It is a harder to source design.
The brooch is just under 3 cm in diameter. It is in spotlessly clean condition and all ready to wear. The original vintage green leatherette box is also in good condition.
