This is a pretty vintage Caithness Glass paperweight.
It is entitled TROPICAL FRUIT.
It is annotated with the title and issue details on the base.
It is a fine example - and is of a relatively later date.
It is egg-shaped with a rounded-point to the apex. Through the polished viewing facet to the front, you can see four floating little lilac-coloured air bubbles. There are surrounded by a wee scattering of tiny controlled bubbles - and to the back is a mottled background - which is engraved with lines to resemble veins on the leaf of a tropical plant - a subtle weight.
It is in excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks. There is a very, very tiny fleabite (the size of the tip of a pinhead) to the viewing window at the right-hand edge - you do not notice this unless turned to a bright light - and it does not affect your enjoyment of this lovely Scottish paperweight (it is so small you can't even see it in my photos) - this is taken into account with my pricing of this one.
Dimensions: Height is 4 1/2 inches. Diameter at the widest point is 3 1/4 inches.
