This is a lovely vintage early 1980s Scottish paperweight. It is made by Perthshire / Strathearn Paperweights. It has a little P cane right in the centre of weight.
It is of a smaller size but it still a stunning paperweight. All the little millefiori canes are just so tiny and exquisite. The P cane is in the centre and surrounded a dust rose and white rosette. From this issue six latticino canes of twisted blue, green and white strands. In between each cane are pyramids of canes in lilac and peppermint. There is a ring of periwinkle blue canes around the circumference. There also three latticino twists canes at the circumference - this is an unusual addition.
There is a polished halo pontil mark on the base.
My weight is about 1 3/4 inches in height and with a diameter at the widest point of about 2 1/2 inches. It is 26 grams in weight.
It is in fine vintage condition for display - no chips or cracks or surface scratches.
This beautiful weight looks even nicer in "real life" than in my photographs.
