This is a rare vintage Scottish silver brooch.
It takes the form of a flat lozenge - with chamfered corners.
In the centre of the design is an abstract image of a thistle - and down each side are raised bands of knotwork designs.
The back is polished silver - it is a designer piece - which has been simply stamped sterling and has not gone to the Assay Office for a hallmark.
On stylistic grounds, it must date to the late 1960s or early 1970s.
It has a good firm pin on the back - which has a ring clasp on it for safety.
Nice larger size with it being about 4 cm in height - by just under 3 cm in width. Nice bit of weight to it.
