This is a lovely Scottish solid 9ct gold brooch.
It is made by the Orkney jewellery designer, Sheila Fleet.
This brooch design is called Skyran, and was inspired by the oldest written text discovered in Orkney.
The Ogham writing on this pendant reads "a blessing on the soul".
It is more commonly found with pale blue enamels on silver - but this is a more valuable and harder-to-find 9ct gold example.
It is 3.9 cm in diameter.
A nice, substantial piece.
As you can see - it is in lovely and almost pristine condition.
It has a tiny makers and a gold mark on the reverse, as photographed.
My solid gold brooch on offer here is pre-owned but it has hardly worn and is in just such super condition.
It comes in a little black presentation box.
A really special piece of Scottish jewellery - this is reflected in my price ... which is a fair one.
