This is a collectable piece of vintage Swedish glass. It was made by Sea Glass and has a sticker on the base. This also states that it was handmade. It is probably hand-blown into a mould. It is not a solid piece of glass - but is hollow inside.
Sea Glasbruk was created in Sweden in 1956 by Inge Samuelsson, Sven Ernstsson, and Tore Andersson, when they purchased the Ekeberga glassworks, just outside the town of Kosta.
Ekeberga was founded in 1953. The name "SEA" comes from the initials of the three owners' surnames. Designers at the factory include Goran Anneborg, Lena Engman, Bjorn Ramel, Renate Stock and Rune Strand. Sea Glasbruk is now part of Orrefors Kosta Boda AB.
This collectable glass sculpture takes the form of a Scandinavian Viking Warrior. He carries a large decorative round shield in front of him and wears a traditional horned Viking helmet.
