This is a useful original vintage Swedish stainless steel open jug. It dates to the late 1950s / early 1960s.

My jug is made of good quality 18/8 gauge stainless steel - and it is in excellent shiny condition with no nasty scratches, marks or stains. I love the geometric inclusions in black bakelite on the undulating handle used to enliven the design. It holds 50 cl of liquid.
Gense is the biggest manufacturer of cutlery made of stainless steel in the Scandinavia. The company was founded by Gustaf Eriksson in 1856 and over the years Gense has collaborated with some of the most renowned designers. Many of their early / mid 20th century designs are still in production today and are considered design classics.
This design was probably designed by Folke Arnstrom - who worked for Gense and liked to include bakelite details into his innovative mid-century designs for the company.
